The City of Edmonton offers free public skating.
If you'd like to perfect your skating skills, you can try one indoor arenas.
The ice is a lot smoother, but you do need to take your own skates.

Hawrelak Park - Skating Event: March 6 2008
Hawrelak Park is nestled along the North Saskatchewan River in South Edmonton.

It's pretty in the park in the winter.
